IOW Surf Club – Frost Bite Series Event No 2 Event No 2 press release from the Isle of Wight Surf Club (Thanks to Matt Harwood, Oliver Harvey and Dave Smart for the write up) The November event held last weekend (Sat 13th) Doug Richards showed his true talent by overcoming a competitive field of talent to take the win in every testing, weak two foot surf at Compton. Against tough competition, Doug surfed well through all rounds to book a berth in the final along side the ever-stylish Joe Truman, competitive Matt Harwood and Chris Mannion who has just returned from training in Australia. IOW Surf Club Frost Bite Series – Event No 1

IOW Surf Club Frost Bite Series Today saw the first ‘Frost bite’ competition of six being held this winter, sponsored kindly by the boys at Rapanui. Greeted with pretty grim onshore head-high waves at Compton, first up we saw the groms test the water. Both Robin & Dylan snagged plenty of waves each but Robin gradually took control with a couple of good waves to take the first event. The waves continue to prove challenging for the mens Open, as the pool of 16 riders entered the water in 4 man, 20 min heats. Season is about to begin !!

Hopefully you like the look of the new website and not long now until the season is here. This year iSurf is going to be doing things a little differently by offering a Saturday and Sunday club option where students can come and go as they wish, a sort of ‘pay as you go’ option and for those extra keen then you are more than welcome to come every week to develop your skills. This will allow students to have a few lessons, then go and practice and come back for further coaching as and when required. This will be available to those 8yrs and upwards. iSurf will provide photo and video footage along with fun style competitions and regular events to keep you all interested and busy this coming summer. Free introductory surfing lesson

iSurf are offering a free introductory surfing lesson for Islanders on the following dates. If you are interested then please email iSurf directly with your preferred date and we will be in touch as soon as possible. Groups up to 10 per lesson.
